Composition
Baytril 10% injectable solution for cattle and pigs. Enrofloxacin.

Declaration of active substance and other ingredients
1 ml of injectable solution contains: Active substance: Enrofloxacin -100 mg. Adjuvant: butyl alcohol. Excipients: Potassium hydroxide, water for injections.

Indications
Antiinfective used in therapy in cattle and pigs to combat diseases caused by gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria or mycoplasmas sensitive to enrofloxacin:
Cattle: E. coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Haemophilus spp., Pasteurella spp., Mycoplasma bovis. Pigs: E. coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pasteurella spp., Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae.
Cattle: Bacterial infections of the respiratory and digestive tracts, joints and udder (pasteurellosis, mycoplasmosis, colibacillosis, colisepticaemia, arthritis, mastitis) and secondary bacterial infections, e.g. in bovine respiratory disease/herbivorous disease complex.
Pigs: Bacterial infections of the respiratory and digestive tracts (coliform diarrhoea, colisepticaemia, pasteurellosis, mycoplasmosis, enzootic pneumonia), MMA syndrome in pigs.

Contraindications
Growth cartilage disorders or existing musculoskeletal disorders involving joints subjected to functional stress or heavy loads.

Adverse reactions
Local tissue reactions may occasionally occur at the site of administration. In rare cases, intravenous treatment in cattle may cause shock, probably as a result of impaired circulatory function. Gastrointestinal disturbances may occasionally occur in cattle. If you notice any serious reactions or other effects not mentioned in this leaflet, please inform your veterinarian.

Cattle and pigs.

Dosage for each species, routes of administration and method of administration
Route of administration
Subcutaneous or intravenous injection in cattle and intramuscular injection in pigs.
Dosage regimen: The dose for cattle and pigs is 2.5 mg enrofloxacin per kg body weight corresponding to 2.5 ml Baytril® 10 % per 100 kg body weight. In case of severe respiratory tract diseases, mastitis, arthritis and/or salmonellosis the dose may be increased to 5 mg enrofloxacin per kg body weight corresponding to 5.0 ml Baytril® 10 % per 100 kg body weight.
Method of administration
The injection is made in the usual places, in piglets in the neck muscles. Do not administer more than 10 ml to the injection site in cattle (5 ml to calves) and no more than 2.5 ml to piglets. Repeated injections (sc to cattle; im to piglets) should be administered at a new site each time.

Recommendations for correct administration
Duration of treatment
Treat for 3 consecutive days. In case of Salmonellosis and arthritis: 5 consecutive days. Mastitis: 2 days. MMA syndrome in sows: 1-2 consecutive days.

Withdrawal period
Edible tissues: Pigs: 9 days.
