BUTASAL 100ML
Butasal 100 mg/ml + 0.05 mg/ml solution for injection for horses, cattle, dogs and cats.
DECLARATION OF (SUBSTANCE) OF ACTIVE SUBSTANCES AND OTHER INGREDIENTS (INGREDIENTS):
Each ml of solution for injection contains:
Active substances:
Butafosfan 100.0 mg
Cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) 0.05 mg
Excipients:
Benzyl alcohol (E1519) 10.5 mg
Clear red solution with no visible particles.
NOTE(S):
Treatment to support metabolic or reproductive disorders, when phosphorus and cyanocobalamin supplementation is necessary.
In the case of metabolic disorders during periparturition (the period immediately before and after calving), tetany (intermittent muscle spasms) and paresis (milk fever), the product will be administered in addition to magnesium and calcium, respectively.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients.
SIDE EFFECTS:

If necessary, the dose can be repeated once a day.
RECOMMENDATIONS ON CORRECT ADMINISTRATION:
The cover can be safely perforated up to 15 times.

Cattle, horses:
Meat and offal: zero days.
Milk: zero hours.
SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR STORAGE:
Keep out of sight and reach of children.
Do not store at a temperature higher than 250C.
Store the bottle in the outer carton to protect from light.
Do not use this veterinary product after the expiry date which is stated on the label. The expiration date refers to the last day of that month.
Shelf life after the first opening of the immediate packaging: 28 days.
SPECIAL WARNINGS:
Special precautions for each target species:
It is recommended to determine the cause(s) of metabolic or reproductive disorders, in order to define the most appropriate prevention and treatment measures and the need for phosphorus and vitamin B12 supplementation therapy.
Special precautions for use in animals:
As a result of a deficiency of the glutcuronide metabolic pathways in cats, which are involved in the metabolism of benzyl alcohol, this veterinary medicinal product should be used with caution and the recommended dosage should be strictly adhered to in this species.
Special precautions to be taken by the person administering the veterinary medicinal product to animals:
Benzyl alcohol can cause hypersensitivity (allergic reactions). People with known hypersensitivity to benzyl alcohol should avoid contact with the product. The product may cause irritation of the skin, eyes or mucous membranes. Therefore, avoid exposing the skin, mucous membranes and eyes. In case of accidental exposure to the skin, mucous membranes and eyes, rinse the skin and/or eyes with water. No food, drinks or smoking will be consumed during the handling of the product. Wash your hands after using the veterinary medicinal product.
Pregnancy and lactation:
The safety of the product has not been established in pregnant and lactating cows, mares, and cats. However, the use of the product during gestation and lactation in these species should not be a particular problem.
SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR DISPOSAL:
Any unused veterinary medicinal product or waste from the use of such products should be disposed of in accordance with local requirements. Ask your veterinarian for information on how to dispose of medicines that are no longer needed. These measures contribute to environmental protection.
