DOFATRIM-JECT, solution for injection for cattle and pigs.
COMPOSITION:
Active substances:
Trimethoprim 40 mg/ml Sulfadoxine 200 mg/ml
Excipients:
Diethanolamine, formal glycerol, 2-pyrrolidone, propylene glycol, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide, water for injections.
INDICATIONS:
Dofatrim-ject is indicated in cattle and pigs for the treatment of infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to sulfadoxine and trimethoprim: primary and secondary infections of the respiratory tract, digestive tract, uro-genital tract and skin and joints.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
The product must not be used in animals with severe renal and hepatic impairment and in animals with hypersensitivity.
SIDE EFFECTS:
After intramuscular administration, local pain or edema/inflammation at the inoculation site may occur temporarily.

TARGET SPECIES:
Cattle and pigs.
METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION:
It is administered intramuscularly or slowly intravenously: ‘
Cattle and pigs: 1 ml per 10 -15 kg body weight (= 16 -24 mg of active substance per kg body weight) for 3 to 5 days.
Interval between administrations: 12-24 hours.
WAITING TIME:
Cams: 7 days.
Milk: 2 days.
SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR STORAGE:
Keep out of reach of children.
Do not store at a temperature higher than 25°C (do not freeze).
Do not use after the expiry date marked on the label.
SPECIAL WARNINGS:
Excretion is mainly through the kidneys. That’s why it’s important for animals to have enough water to drink.
Recommendations for the person who administers the product to animals
The galenic form (solution for injection) prevents the product from coming into direct contact with the user, so normal precautions for handling drugs are sufficient. The effect of the drug should always be taken into account.
