FORTICLINE RETARD 200 MG/ML
Solution for injection for cattle, sheep, goats and pigs.
Oxytetracycline dihydrate.
DECLARATION OF (SUBSTANCE) OF ACTIVE SUBSTANCES AND OTHER INGREDIENTS (INGREDIENTS)
Active substance:
Oxytetracycline dihydrate 219 mg/ml (equivalent to 200 mg/ml oxytetracycline)
Excipients:
Sodium formaldehyde sulfoxylate 2 mg/ml;
Reddish-brown solution, without visible particles.
INDICATION(S)
It is indicated in the treatment of infections caused by oxytetracycline-sensitive germs:
Cattle: pneumonia, transport fever, pododermatitis, bacterial enteritis, actino – bacillosis, omphalitis, metritis, mastitis.
Pigs: pneumonia, bacterial enteritis, mastitis, hemorrhagic sepsis, measles, metritamastitis-agalactia syndrome (in sows).
Sheep and goats: pneumonia, chlamydiasis, omphalitis, metritis, mastitis, pododermatitis.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
Do not use in animals with liver or kidney disorders.
ADVERSE REACTIONS
If the recommended amounts are exceeded, to be administered in a single point, a slight local inflammation may occur, with a local sensitivity that disappears after 1-2 days.
Allergic reactions may occur in animals sensitive to oxytetracycline: salivation, transient tearing, which occurs immediately after administration. If you notice any serious reactions or other effects that are not listed in this leaflet, please inform your veterinarian.
TARGET SPECIES
Cattle, sheep, goats and pigs.
DOSAGE FOR EACH SPECIES, ROUTE (CA) OF ADMINISTRATION AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
Route of administration: deeply intramuscular.
Cattle:
20 mg oxytetracycline per kg body weight, equivalent to 1 ml of Forticline Retard per 10 kg body weight.
Sheep and goats:
20 mg oxytetracycline per kg body weight, equivalent to 1 ml of Forticline Retard per 10 kg body weight.
Swine:
20 mg of oxytetracycline per kg of body weight, equivalent to 1 ml of Forticline retard per 10 kg of body weight.
The second dose can be administered after 48-72 hours if necessary.
To ensure a correct dosage, body weight should be determined as accurately as possible.
RECOMMENDATIONS ON CORRECT ADMINISTRATION
In cattle, no more than 10 m.l is administered at the injection site.
In sheep, goats and pigs, no more than 5 ml shall be administered at the injection site.
WAITING TIME
Meat and offal: 21 days.
Milk (cattle): 7 days.
It is not authorised for use in sheep and goats that produce milk for human consumption.
SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR STORAGE
Keep out of sight and reach of children.
This veterinary medicinal product does not require special storage conditions.
Shelf life after the first opening of the primary packaging: 28 days.
