MULTISPECIES INJECTABLE SOLUTION LINCOMYCIN SPECTINOMYCIN 5/10 100ML
LINCOMYCIN – SPECTINOMYCIN 5/10, injectable solution for pigs, calves, sheep, goats, dogs, cats and birds (broilers).
COMPOSITION:
1 ml injectable solution contains:
Active substances:
Lincomycin (as hydrochloride) …… 50 mg
Spectinomycin (as hydrochloride) …… 100 mg
Excipients:
Benzyl alcohol …… 10 mg
INDICATIONS:
Treatment of diseases caused by germs sensitive to lincomycin and spectinomycin.
– Pigs: dysentery, spirochetal colitis, proliferative enteritis, Mycoplasma spp. infections (arthritis, pneumonia), enteritis with E. coli, Salmonella, rubella.
– Calves: upper respiratory tract infections, pneumonia, enteritis.
– Sheep, goats: contagious interdigital dermatitis, respiratory infections.
– Dogs and cats: respiratory tract infections (tonsillitis, laryngitis, pharyngitis, bronchitis, pneumonia), dermatitis, abscesses, urinary tract infections, metritis.
– Birds (broilers): CRB, coryza, airsacculitis, enteritis, E. coli, Salmonella infections, arthritis, septicemia.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients.
ADVERSE REACTIONS:
Occasionally, pain may occur at the injection site.
The product may cause transient reactions manifested by diarrhea, loose stools or loss of appetite.
If you notice serious reactions or other effects not mentioned in this leaflet, please inform your veterinarian.
TARGET SPECIES:
Pigs, calves, sheep, goats, dogs, cats, poultry (broilers)
DOSAGE FOR EACH SPECIES, ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION:
The product is administered intramuscularly or subcutaneously (in poultry).
Pigs: 1 ml product/10 kg body weight daily for 3-7 consecutive days.
Calves: 1 ml product/10 kg body weight, administered every 12 hours on the first day of treatment. Treatment is continued for 2-4 days with daily administration every 24 hours.
Sheep, goats: 1 ml product/10 kg body weight, administered every 24 hours for 3 days.
Dogs and cats: 1 ml product/5 kg body weight. Treatment is repeated every 12-24 hours for a maximum of 21 days.
Poultry (broilers): 0.5 ml product /2.5 kg body weight, administered subcutaneously for 3 consecutive days.
RECOMMENDATIONS ON CORRECT ADMINISTRATION
To ensure an appropriate dose, the weight of the animals will be correctly assessed, in order to avoid underdosing or overdose.
WITHDRAWAL TIME:
Meat and offal:
Pigs, calves, sheep, goats: 12 days
Broilers: 10 days
Milk:
Sheep, goats: 2 days
Not permitted for use in laying birds producing eggs for human consumption.
SPECIAL STORAGE PRECAUTIONS:
Keep out of the reach and sight of children. Store below 25°C.
Protect from light.
Protect from freezing.
Do not use after the expiry date marked on the bottle.
Shelf life after first opening the immediate packaging: 28 days.
SPECIAL WARNINGS:
The use of the product should be based on susceptibility testing of bacteria isolated from animals.
If this is not possible, therapy should be based on local epidemiological information on the susceptibility of the target bacteria.
National and regional antimicrobial policies should be followed when using the product.
Use of the product deviating from the instructions in the SPC may lead to an increase in the prevalence of bacteria resistant to the active substance and to a decrease in the effectiveness of the treatment due to the possibility of cross-resistance.
During treatment, adequate fluid intake should be ensured to avoid dehydration.
In case of accidental self-injection, seek medical advice immediately and show the package leaflet or the label to the doctor.
Avoid contact with eyes and skin. In case of accidental contact with eyes or skin, rinse immediately with water.
Can be used during pregnancy, lactation and laying.
SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR THE DISPOSAL OF UNUSED PRODUCTS OR WASTE MATERIALS, IF ANY:
Treated animals should be kept in shelters throughout the treatment period and collected droppings should not be used for soil fertilization.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste.
Ask your veterinarian for information on how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.
