Multispecies solution for injection Lincomycin Spectinomycin 5/10 100ml

LINCOMYCIN – SPECTINOMYCIN 5/10, solution for injection for pigs, calves, sheep, goats, dogs, cats and birds (broilers).

COMPOSITION:
1 ml solution for injection contains:
Active substances:
Lincomycin (as hydrochloride) …… 50 mg
Spectinomycin (as hydrochloride) …… 100 mg
Excipients:
Benzyl alcohol …… 10 mg

INDICATIONS:
Treatment of diseases caused by germs sensitive to lincomycin and spectinomcin.
– Swine: dysentery, spirochetic colitis, proliferative enteritis, infections with Mycoplasma spp. (arthritis, pneumonia), enteritis with E. coli, Salmonella, measles.
– Calves: upper respiratory tract infections, pneumonia, enteritis.

– Sheep, goats: contagious interdigital dermatitis, respiratory infections.
– Dogs and cats: respiratory tract infections (tonsillitis, laryngitis, pharyngitis, bronchitis, pneumonia), dermatitis, abscesses, urinary tract infections, metritis.
– Birds (broilers): BRC, coryza, aerosaclite, enteritis, E. coli infections, Salmonella, arthritis, sepsis.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients.

SIDE EFFECTS:
Occasionally pain may occur at the injection site.
The product may give transient reactions manifested by diarrhea, loose stools or lack of appetite.
If you notice any serious reactions or other effects not listed in this leaflet, please inform your veterinarian.

TARGET SPECIES:
Pigs, calves, sheep, goats, dogs, cats, birds (broilers)

DOSAGE FOR EACH SPECIES, ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION:
The product is administered intramuscularly or subcutaneously (in birds).
Pigs: 1 ml of product/10 kg of body weight daily for 3-7 consecutive days.
Calf: 1 ml of product/10 kg of body weight, administered every 12 hours on the first day of treatment. The treatment is continued for 2-4 days with daily administration every 24 hours.
Sheep, goats: 1 ml product/10 kg body weight, administered every 24 hours for 3 days.
Dogs and cats: 1 ml product/5 kg body weight. The treatment is repeated every 12-24 hours for a maximum of 21 days.
Poultry (broilers): 0.5 ml of product / 2.5 kg body weight, administered subcutaneously for 3 consecutive days.

RECOMMENDATIONS ON CORRECT ADMINISTRATION
To ensure an appropriate dose, the weight of the animals should be correctly assessed in order to avoid underdosing or overdosing.

Meat and offal:
Pigs, calves, sheep, goats: 12 days
Broileri: 10 days
Milk:
Sheep, goats: 2 days
It is not allowed for use in laying birds that produce eggs for human consumption.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR STORAGE:
Keep out of reach of children. Store below 25°C.
Protect from light.
Keep out of frost.
Do not use after the expiry date marked on the bottle.
Shelf life after the first opening of the immediate packaging: 28 days.

SPECIAL WARNINGS:
The use of the product must be based on testing the susceptibility of bacteria isolated from animals.
If this is not possible, therapy should be based on local epidemiological information on the susceptibility of the target bacteria.
National and regional antimicrobial policies must be followed when using the product.
Use of the product outside the instructions in the SmPC may increase the prevalence of bacteria resistant to the active substance and decrease the effectiveness of treatment due to the possibility of cross-resistance.
During the treatment, to avoid dehydration, an adequate fluid intake will be ensured.
In case of accidental self-injection, seek medical advice immediately and show the package leaflet or label to your doctor.
Avoid contact of the product with eyes and skin. In case of accidental contact with eyes or skin, wash immediately with water.

It can be used during pregnancy, lactation and laying.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR DISPOSAL OF UNUSED PRODUCT OR WASTE, AS APPROPRIATE:
The treated animals will be kept in shelters throughout the treatment period and the collected manure will not be used for soil fertilization.
Medicines should not be disposed of in wastewater or household waste.
Ask your veterinarian for information on how to dispose of medicines that are no longer needed. These measures contribute to the protection of the environment.
