Nonovulin 10 mg , For blocking (interruption) and postponing estrus in dogs and cats

Nonovulin 10 mg tablets for dogs and cats.

Megestrol acetate.

STATEMENT OF ACTIVE SUBSTANCES AND OTHER INGREDIENTS
Each tablet contains 10 mg megestrol acetate.

INDICATION(S)
For blocking (interruption) and postponing estrus in dogs and cats; for calming dogs and cats in heat and showing behavioural changes (satiriasis) and in miliary eczema in cats.
Do not administer to sexually immature dogs and cats, to bitches and cats pregnant or with false pregnancy, to bitches and cats with hormonal gynecological disorders and/or genital infections.

ADVERSE REACTIONS
Sometimes vomiting, anorexia, apathy, the appearance of lactation can be observed, more frequent cases of endometritis and pyometra, cystic hyperplasia of the endometrium, the provocation and relapse of diabetes mellitus, fibrocystic degeneration and mammary tumors.

TARGET SPECIES
Dogs and cats.

DOSAGE FOR EACH SPECIES, ROUTE(S) OF ADMINISTRATION AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
Orally.
Dogs
– for the cessation of estrus – 1-2 mg per kg of live weight (on average 1.5 mg/kg of live weight) for 3 days; it is recommended to start administration at the first signs of heat (swelling of the vulva, the appearance of bloody estrous secretions) and 0.5-1 mg per kg of live weight for the next 7 days – which corresponds to 1-2 cp. in the first 3 days of treatment and ½ -1 cp. in the next 7 days of treatment.
– for delay (temporary postponement of) estrus (transport, participation in contests and competitions, etc.) – 0.5 mg / kg live weight / day, treatment should be started 7 days before the onset of heat and will be continued until the estrus is postponed (minimum 14 days). When the effect is desired to be prolonged, the procedure can be repeated after a 10-day break. This procedure can be applied only once every six months.
– in males in heat (satyriasis) with or without behavioral changes (aggressiveness or other changes) the recommended doses for interrupting estrus in bitches are administered.
Cats
– for interrupting estrus – 5 mg per cat (½ tsp.) for 8 consecutive days, starting with the first signs of estrus.
– for postponing estrus – 2.5 mg/cat (¼ tsp.), 3 times a week throughout the estrus period.
– in males in heat (sathyriasis) – 2 mg per kg of body weight, for 30 days (until signs disappear).

RECOMMENDATIONS ON CORRECT ADMINISTRATION
Internal, orally.
