INDICATIONS
In the fight against pain through local infiltrations, in truncal anesthesia and in epidural anesthesia (dystocias, prolapses, surgical interventions, etc.) in: horses, cattle, sheep, goats, pigs and dogs.
Intravenously to fight against hypertension, cardiac fibrillation, coronary spasm and colic.
CONTRAINDICATIONS AND PRECAUTIONS
Do not administer to animals with liver failure, meningitis, in shock, etc.
Use with caution in allergic animals.
ADVERSE REACTIONS
Allergic reactions may occur in cats.
TARGET SPECIES
Horses, cattle, sheep, goats, pigs and dogs.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
In infiltration anesthesia, Procarom 2% is injected around the painful focus or the surgical site, in quantities of 2-4 ml in each place.
In cattle and horses:
– in epidural anesthesia, 5-10 ml are used for interventions performed on standing animals or 10-20 ml for animals that must lie down.
– in colic, intravenous administration is done slowly in a dose of 10-30 ml.
– in cesarean operations, it is infiltrated layer by layer using 10-30 ml, depending on the size of the animal.
Anesthesia on the nerve path is achieved by injecting 5-15 ml, as close as possible to the nerve that innervates the area.
In pigs, sheep and goats, for cesarean operations, it is infiltrated layer by layer using 5-15 ml of Procarom 2% solution.
In dogs, infiltration of the anatomical layers is performed using 0.5-3 ml depending on size.
