Description:
· Aurizon is used in the treatment of otitis externa of bacterial or fungal origin in dogs.
Ingredients:
· Marbofloxacin 3 mg
· Clotrimazole 10 mg
· Dexamethasone acetate 1 mg
· Propyl gallate 1 mg
Key benefits:
· In dogs, Aurizon otic solution is used to treat otitis externa of bacteriological or fungal origin, respectively caused by bacteria sensitive to marbofloxacin and fungi sensitive to clotrimazone, in particular Malasezia pachydermatis.
Intended for:
· Dogs.
Method of administration:
· Auricular administration.
· The external ear canal should be thoroughly cleaned and dried prior to treatment. Excess hair around the treated region should be cut.
· Shake the bottle well before use.
Form of presentation:
· Bottle with 10 ml.
Dosage:
· Apply 10 drops to the ear once a day for 7 to 14 days.
· After the first 7 days of treatment, the veterinarian should assess the need to extend the treatment for another week.
· After application, the base of the ear can be gently massaged to allow the preparation to penetrate the lower part of the external canal.
· If the same bottle is used in several dogs at the same time, it is recommended to use different annuls.
Possible side effects:
· Using topical steroids for an extended period of time can cause skin discoloration and delayed wound healing.
· Common corticosteroid side effects (disturbance of biochemical and haematological parameters, such as increased levels of cortisol and liver enzymes) may occur.
· In very rare cases, the use of this drug can be associated with deafness, especially in older dogs.
Precautions:
· Do not use in dogs with perforated tympanic membrane.
· Do not use in dogs with known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
· Do not use in pregnant or lactating females.
· Long-term use of a single class of antibiotics can induce resistance in a bacterial population.
· The use of fluoroquinolones is recommended in the treatment of clinical conditions that have responded poorly or are expected to respond poorly to other classes of antibiotics.
· Before using the product as a treatment, the integrity of the tympanic membrane must be checked.
How to store:
· Store in a place away from moisture and direct exposure to the sun, at temperatures up to 25°C.
In case of overdose:
· Changes in biochemical and hematological parameters (such as increased alkaline phosphatase, aminotransferase, mild neutrophilia, eosinopenia, lymphopenia) can be observed in the case of administration of a triple dose: these changes are not serious and the animal will recover with the cessation of treatment. · In case of overdose, please contact your veterinarian urgently.
