Description:

In dogs it is used in the treatment of congestive heart failure.
In cats it is used to reduce proteinuria associated with chronic kidney disease.
Intended for:
Dogs and cats between 5 – 20 kg.
Method of administration:
Oral administration.
It can be administered with or without food.

Box of 14 tablets.
Dosage:
Dogs: the product should be administered at a minimum dose of 0.25 mg (between 0.25 – 0.5 mg) benazpril hydrochloride/kg/day:

The dose may be doubled to a minimum dose of 0.5 mg (between 0.5 – 1 mg) benazpril hydrochloride/kg/day while maintaining the once-daily administration, if recommended in this regard by the veterinarian.
Cats: the product should be administered at a minimum dose of 0.5 mg (between 0.5 – 1 mg) benazpril hydrochloride/kg/day:

Possible adverse effects:
Very rarely vomiting, incoordination or signs of fatigue have been observed in dogs.
In dogs and cats with chronic kidney disease, the product may increase plasma creatinine concentrations in the early phase of therapy, but this is not a reason to stop therapy.
It may increase food consumption and body weight in cats.
In rare cases vomiting, diarrhoea, anorexia, dehydration and lethargy have been reported in cats.
If you notice any serious reactions or other effects not mentioned in the package leaflet, please inform your veterinarian.
Precautions:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
Do not use in case of hypotension, hypovolemia, hyponatremia, or acute renal failure.
Clinical signs did not reveal signs of renal toxicity caused by the product, but it is recommended to monitor the level of creatinine and urea in plasma, as well as the number of erythrocytes during therapy.
The safety and efficacy of the product has not been tested in dogs and cats under 2.5 kg.
Do not use during pregnancy or lactation.
Storage:
Store in a place protected from moisture and direct sunlight, at temperatures up to 25°C.
In case of overdose:
Fortekor Flavour reduced the number of erythrocytes in normal cats when administered at doses of 10 mg/kg once daily for 12 months and in normal dogs when administered at doses of 150 mg/kg for 12 months.
In case of overdose, transient reversible hypotension may occur. Therapy consists of intravenous infusions of warm isotonic saline solutions.
In case of overdose, please contact your veterinarian immediately.
