Description:
Galastop oral solution 50ug/ml is a medicine prescribed by veterinarians for false pregnancy in dogs. It is also used to suppress lactation in. The active ingredient in Galastop 50 ug/ml oral solution is cabergoline, which works by stopping the production of a hormone called prolactin.

Cabergoline is a derivative of Ergoline, with a strong, selective and long–lasting inhibitory effect on prolactin secretion. Prolactin is a key hormone for lactogenesis and for initiating and maintaining lactation after calving. In addition, the etiology of false pregnancy is currently considered to be mediated by prolactin levels and stimulated by the increase in progesterone levels that fall within the time of metoestrus.
Lactation suppression in the may be necessary under certain clinical conditions, for example, after the elimination of puppies shortly after calving, or after early weaning.
Inhibition of prolactin secretion helps to quickly cease lactation and reduce the size of the mammary glands.

Method of administration:
Oral administration.
Form of presentation:
24 ml bottle fitted with 1 ml graduated pipette
Dosage:
0.1 ml GALASTOP/kg body weight (equivalent to 5μg cabergoline/kg body weight) once a day for 4–6 consecutive days depending on the clinical status of the animal.
Possible side effects:
In some animals, a slight state of drowsiness may be observed after the first 2 days of treatment.
After the first 2 doses, vomiting and anorexia may occur in a small proportion of cases. Treatment should not be discontinued unless vomiting is severe or persists after several doses.

Precautions:
Do not use in and cats at an advanced stage of gestation, as cabergoline causes miscarriage.
Do not use immediately after surgery when the animal is still under the influence of anaesthetics.
How to store:
Store in a place away from moisture and direct exposure to the sun, at temperatures up to 25°C.
In case of overdose:
In case of overdose, symptoms of vomiting, anorexia, hypotension may occur.
