PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION
Pododermin acts through the specific and synergistic bactericidal effect of oxytetracycline, nitrofuran, iodoform and bismuth subnitricum against Gram-positive and Gram-negative germs, as well as through the keratolytic and healing effect of salicylic acid and bismuth subnitricum, respectively.
The characteristic odor of iodoform repels insects.
TARGET SPECIES: dogs and cats.
INDICATIONS
The ointment is used for local applications in specific and non-specific pododermatitis and panaritium.
It can be used with good results in the treatment of accidental, surgical and atonic wounds in canids and felines.
