Description:
· Mitex is an otic solution indicated in otitis externa caused by fungi, bacteria and parasites in dogs and cats.

Ingredients:
· Miconazole nitrate 23 mg
· Prednisolone acetate 5 mg
· Polymyxin B sulfate 5500 IU
· Benzylbenzoate

Intended for:
· dogs and cats.

Method of administration:
· Shake the bottle well before use.
· Pinch the hair surrounding or covering the lesions before application.

Form of presentation:
· 18 g bottle.

Dosage:
· Apply 3-5 drops to the ear 2 times/day and massage gently to ensure even distribution.
· Continue treatment without interruption for several days after clinical signs have completely disappeared.
· In chronic cases it may be necessary to continue treatment for 2 or 3 weeks.

Possible side effects:
· This product contains Prednisolone.
· Prolonged use of the product can lead to the excessive development of nonsusceptible organisms.
· Constant observation of the animal is essential.
· If you notice any serious reactions and effects that are not mentioned in the leaflet, please inform your veterinarian.

Precautions:
· Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients
· Do not use if the tympanic membrane is perforated due to possible ototoxic effects of the antibiotic content Polymyxin B sulfate.
· If no improvement occurs after 3 days or if redness, irritation or inflammation persists or increases, discontinue use and re-diagnose.
· In case of prolonged application, especially in cats, a possible increase in sensitivity to the product should be considered.

How to store:
· Store in a place away from moisture and direct exposure to the sun, at temperatures up to 25°C.

In case of overdose:
· When treating animals with Mitex you should notice the common symptoms of corticosteroid overdose which include polydipsia, polyuria and occasionally weight gain.
· In case of overdose, please contact your veterinarian urgently.
