COMPOSITION
Salicylic acid 3 g, excipient (propylene glycol) ad. 100 ml.

PROPERTIES

Salicylic acid in the concentration used has a moderate antiseptic and antipruritic action. It possesses mild keratolytic properties that allow the detachment of crusts and the cleaning of earwax without irritating the mucous membrane of the pinna.

INDICATIONS

For cleaning the pinna and external ear canal or as an adjuvant in the treatment of various ear conditions (otitis, eczema).

METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION

Instill a sufficient amount of OTOSAN (a few drops) on the wall of the external ear canal; after a few minutes of contact, the ear canal is gently cleaned with a swab. In the treatment of eczema or otitis, OTOSAN is used as an adjuvant for ear hygiene before specific treatment (OTOGUARD ointment). The procedure is repeated daily until the symptoms disappear.

RECOMMENDATIONS ON CORRECT ADMINISTRATION.

The product must be brought to a temperature as close as possible to that of the body, and the earwax must be carefully removed with a swab, without damaging the auditory canal. It is necessary to introduce a sufficient amount of product to soften the earwax. To apply the product, tilt the animal’s head to the opposite side of the ear to be treated.
