Active substances: Albendazole 25 mg; Avermectin B1 1 mg;
Excipients (starch, lactose, aerosil, avicel, talc, magnesium stearate) ad 250 mg.
PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION
Albendazole is an endoparasiticide from the benzimidazole class with a very broad spectrum.
Administered orally, it is rapidly absorbed and diffuses into all organs and tissues, producing lysis of worms, in all forms of evolution (eggs, larvae, adults) regardless of their location (respiratory system, digestive tract, liver, various tissues).
It is active against nematodes (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leoninas, Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma caninum, Trichuris vulpis, Dirofilaria immitis) and cestodes (Echinococcus spp., Taenia spp., Dipylidium caninum, Mesoscestoides spp.) in dogs and cats.
Avermectin B1 is an antibiotic from the class of macrocyclic lactones, which is obtained from the fermentation of Streptomyces avermitilis; it acts on the nervous system of parasitic nematodes and arthropods, causing their paralysis and death by stimulating the production of gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA) at the synapse level, which interrupts the transmission of nerve impulses.
The toxicity of the product is relatively low.
TARGET SPECIES: Dogs, cats and racing and ornamental pigeons.
