SPECIAL WARNINGS:
Special warnings for each target species:
Subcutaneous injection into the nape of the neck or neck area in cats may cause sensitisation reactions. In large dogs, a slight sensitivity reaction may occur following subcutaneous administration of high doses. In order to avoid increasing the risk of resistance development – which ultimately results in ineffective treatment – the following should be avoided:
– frequent and repeated use of anthelmintics from the same class over a long period of time.
– underdosing, which may occur as a result of incorrect assessment of body weight, poor administration or decalibration (where applicable) of the dispenser (administration device).
Clinical cases suspected of anthelmintic resistance should be investigated by appropriate methods (ovocoproscopy, etc.). If the test results clearly indicate resistance to a particular anthelmintic, another anthelmintic from a different pharmacological class and with a different mode of action should be used.
