STATEMENT OF ACTIVE AND OTHER SUBSTANCES
Active substance
Pilocarpine hydrochloride……………………………………………………………….10 mg/ml.
INDICATIONS
It is recommended for horses in non-specific edema, acute furuncle, indigestion following the consumption of insufficiently matured feed. It can also be used in glaucoma to prevent synechiae between the lens and adjacent tissues, as well as in periodic ophthalmia.
In dogs, it is used in constipation as a purgative.
The active substance, pilocarpine, is also used as an antidote in parasympatholytic poisoning (atropine).
Contraindications
Do not use in cardiac, pulmonary diseases and in pregnant females, due to the effect it has on the uterine muscles.
Do not administer to horses whose meat and milk are intended for human consumption. Do not use in colic in horses.

Salivation, miosis.

Horses and dogs.
Doses for each species, horses and method of administration
Rompil 1% – injectable solution, is administered subcutaneously in the following doses.
-In horses: 3-20 ml, depending on size, large doses must be divided and administered at intervals of 1-2 hours.
-In dogs: 0.3-0.5 ml.
In periodic ophthalmia (incipient phase) during attacks, it is applied as instillations in the conjunctival sac, in an amount of 5-10 drops, alternately with mydriatics (atropine).
Recommendations for correct administration
The live weight of the animals will be correctly estimated to avoid underdosing or overdose.
Withdrawal time
Do not administer to horses whose meat and milk are intended for human consumption.
Special precautions for storage
Keep out of sight and reach of children.
Store at a temperature below 250C, in the original packaging, under “POISON” status.
Do not use after the expiration date stated on the label. Shelf life of the veterinary medicinal product, after first opening, 7 days.
Special warnings for each target species
In dogs, pilocarpine should only be administered after adequate hydration of the animal.
After injecting the product, the animal should not consume water or food for about 30-40 minutes.
Special precautions to be taken by the person administering the veterinary medicinal product to animals
In case of accidental self-injection, seek medical advice immediately and show the package leaflet or the label to the doctor. General rules for the prevention of biological risk should be observed when handling needles, syringes or other materials that have come into contact with the treated animal.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Do not use in pregnant females due to the effect it has on the uterine muscles.
