Simparica Trio – 3 chewable tablets

Simparica – antiparasitic chewable tablets for dogs, effective against ticks, fleas, sarcoptic mange and demodicosis.
Indications: in dogs from 8 weeks of age and weighing 1.3 kg for the treatment of:

tick infestations (Dermacentor reticulatus, Ixodes hexagonus, Ixodes ricinus and Rhipicephalus sanguineus).
flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis and Ctenocephalides canis).
The veterinary medicinal product can be used as part of a treatment strategy for flea allergy dermatitis (FAD).
sarcoptic mange (caused by S. scabiei)
ear mites (Otodectes cynotis)
demodex (Demodex canis)
Establishment of efficacy:

fleas: 8 hours from the moment of infestation
ticks: 12 hours from the moment of infestation
Fleas and ticks must attach to the host and begin feeding in order to be exposed to the active substance.

Kills fleas before they start laying eggs = prevents contamination of the environment with intermediate forms (egg, larva, pupa)

Duration of action: at least 5 weeks.

Administration: oral

Presentation: Chewable tablets (boxes with 3 tablets)

Active substance: Sarolaner

Administration dose: 2-4mg/kg

The tablets are chewable, palatable and quickly consumed by dogs when offered by the owner.
If the tablets are not taken voluntarily by dogs, they can be administered with food or directly into the animal’s mouth
The tablets should not be divided.

Simparica 5 mg for dogs 1.3 – 2.5 kg
Simparica 10 mg for dogs > 2.5 – 5 kg
Simparica 20 mg for dogs > 5 – 10 kg
Simparica 40 mg for dogs > 10 – 20 kg
Simparica 80 mg for dogs > 20 – 40 kg
Simparica 120 mg for dogs > 40 – 60 kg
For optimal control of external parasites it is recommended:
– fleas and ticks, the veterinary medicinal product should be administered continuously at monthly intervals throughout the season.
The need for repeated treatment should be applied according to the local epidemiological situation.
– for the treatment of mange (caused by Sarcoptes scabiei var. canis) one dose should be administered at monthly intervals for two consecutive months.
– for the treatment of ear mites (Otodectes cynotis) infestations, a single dose should be administered. A further veterinary examination is recommended 30 days after treatment, as some animals may require a second treatment.
– for the treatment of demodicosis (caused by Demodex canis), a single dose administered once a month for three consecutive months is effective and leads to a significant improvement in clinical signs. 5 Treatment should be continued until skin scrapings are negative, at least twice consecutively, one month apart. As demodicosis is a multifactorial disease, appropriate treatment of any disease is recommended.

The safety of the veterinary medicinal product has not been established during pregnancy and lactation or in breeding animals. Laboratory studies in rats and rabbits have not produced any evidence of teratogenic effects. Use only according to the benefit/risk assessment carried out by the responsible veterinarian.
