Sterile bandage with alginate and silver Polisept Vet Al/Ag, 3 pieces of dressing, JM Sante
Properties:
– sterile, direct bandage, containing calcium alginate enriched with silver ions;
– calcium alginate has high absorption properties, and silver ions have antibacterial properties;
– when in contact with wound secretions, calcium alginate fibers transform into a delicate gel that fills the wound bed, while silver ions are simultaneously released into the wound acting bactericidal, the resulting gel creates the ideal environment for wound healing: optimal moisture levels that improve granulation and epithelialization processes;
– provides thermal insulation and mechanical insulation that protects the wound from external environmental stress factors, without interfering with gas exchange. Silver ions combat infections inside the wound and prevent external infection.
– absorbent dressing with antiseptic properties, which can be used for both superficial and deep, penetrating, infected and clean wounds;
– level of wound exudate: heavy or medium.
How to apply:
Rinse the wound with POLISEPT VET Wound Irrigation or POLISEPT VET spray.
Dry the skin around the wound, but lightly moisten the wound bed.
Adjust the size of the bandageso that it covers the entire wound surface.
Leave an additional 2 cm margin.
Place the POLISEPT VET AL/AG bandage directly on the wound.
In the case of deep wounds, they can be filled with a quantity of bandage cut to fit their size and shape.
Cover the POLISEPT VET AL/AG dressing with an additional external dressing and secure it with a bandage or plaster.
On infected wounds, POLISEPT VET AL/AG should be applied and changed once a day in the initial stage of treatment and then, depending on the degree to which the infection has been combated, until the wound exudate is reduced or absent.
Frequency of bandage changes:
Change the dressing after its surface has completely turned into gel.
This depends, among other things, on the moisture level of the wound.
In case of heavy exudate: the dressing should be changed daily during the initial treatment period; subsequently – twice a week.
In case of reduced exudate: change the dressing twice a week.
On infected wounds, POLISEPT VET AL/AG should be applied and changed once a day (or depending on the severity of the infection).
Bandage change:
The POLISEPT VET AL/AG dressing can be easily removed from the wound, without affecting wound healing and/or causing discomfort (pain).
During the dressing change, the gel residue remaining in the wound can be easily washed away using POLISEPT VET Wound Irrigation.
Remove the external dressing.
Use tweezers to remove the POLISEPT VET AL/AG dressing from the wound.
Clean the wound of gel residue with POLISEPT VET Wound Irrigation.
Precautions:
It is not recommended to use the alginate dressing containing silver ions simultaneously with topical treatment with antibiotics or antiseptics, as such treatment will be ineffective (the alginate dressing reduces the effectiveness of these remedies).
