TriDigest, 40 capsules, VetExpert
Properties:
– TriDigest is a preparation for dogs and cats that supports digestion by stimulating the secretion of gastric juice, bile and pancreatic juice;
Gastric juice secretion – BETAINE:
– betaine is a trimethyl derivative of the amino acid GLYCINE. Used in the form of Betaine Hydrochloride, it stimulates the release of hydrochloric acid in the stomach, supporting the digestion of proteins. Betaine Hydrochloride has the ability to lower the pH of the stomach, supporting the denaturation of dietary proteins and increasing the efficiency of protein digestion by pancreatic enzymes. (Yago i wsp., 2013);
Bile secretion – ARTICHOKE:
– artichokes (Cynara scolymus L) are used as support in the treatment of liver diseases and disorders of the secretory functions of the stomach. Part of the mechanism of action is based on the antioxidant function of artichoke extract. In addition, artichoke extract encourages bile secretion, increases the content of bile acids in bile and stimulates bile flow in the small intestine. Luteolin and cynarin contained in artichoke extract exert hepatoprotective action and stabilize the metabolism of cholesterol and fatty acids in the liver. (Speroni et al., 2003);
Secretion of pancreatic juice – LICORICE (licorice):
– licorice extract has both anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral, hepatoprotective and secretory action. It is recommended for the treatment of gastric ulcers and dyspeptic disorders. Licorice extract stimulates the secretion of the endogenous hormone secretin, which stimulates the secretion of bicarbonates from the pancreas, thus leading to an increase in the amount of pancreatic juice and thus to intestinal digestion. By increasing mucus production, it increases the level of prostaglandins in the intestinal walls.
Hepatoprotective action – PHOSPHOLIPIDS and ORNITHIN:
– phospholipids exert a protective and regenerative action on liver cells. They promote rapid regeneration of the affected liver. Phospholipids are necessary in the processes of proliferation and differentiation of liver cells. They also inhibit liver fibrosis. Ornithine is recommended for liver support by regulating the urea cycle. It is especially important in the cat’s body, due to the decrease in ammonia toxicity. It is recommended for cats suspected of hepatic encephalopathy.
How to use:
Orally.
The tablets can be administered whole or crushed, before or with food. If the daily dosage exceeds one tablet, they can be administered two or three times a day.
The animal must have fresh water available at all times. The correct dosage and administration period depend on the individual needs of the animal and will be established by a veterinarian.
