Antipoux MD, 14 ml, for the treatment and prevention of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides spp. ), mange lice (Trichodectes canis, Felicola subrostratus) and ticks (Rhipicephalus spp., Dermacentor spp., Ixodes spp., Amblyomma spp.), in dogs and cats.
The product’s efficacy against new infestations with adult fleas persists for up to 8 weeks in dogs and 30 days in cats. Efficacy against ticks and lice for about 4 weeks. It can also be used as part of a treatment strategy for allergic dermatitis caused by flea bites.
Do not use in rabbits, severe reactions may occur in this species. Do not administer in case of known hypersensitivity to fipronil or any of the excipients.
Do not administer to sick or convalescent animals.
The recommended doses are:
Cat: 7.5 mg – 15 mg fipronil/kg body weight, equivalent to 0.5 ml Antipoux MD/cat.
Dog: max 13 mg/kg body weight, equivalent to 0.5 ml Antipoux MD/4 kg.

Administration method:
The product is applied to the base of the neck, between the shoulder blades, in one or more places at a distance of 2-3 cm from each other in larger animals.
The animal’s fur is parted in a path until the skin becomes visible.
The tip of the syringe is placed on the skin, then the ring on the piston is rotated to the mark corresponding to the volume of product indicated according to the weight of the animal.
You must ensure that the product is applied in an area where the animal cannot lick it, and that the animals do not lick each other after treatment. Avoid excessive wetting of the animal’s fur with the product, as this may cause the hair to appear sticky at the treatment site. If this happens, this will disappear within 24-48 hours of application.
Animals must be weighed accurately before treatment.
SPECIAL STORAGE PRECAUTIONS:
Keep out of the reach and sight of children;
Store below 25°C;
Store in a dry place;
Store in the original packaging;
Do not use after the expiry date stated on the label;
Shelf life after first opening the primary packaging: 90 days.
Do not apply the product to wounds or damaged skin.
Avoid bathing/shampooing the treated animal for two days after application of the product.
Special precautions for use in animals
Avoid administering the product to animals under two months of age, to dogs weighing less than 2 kg or to cats weighing less than 1 kg.
Avoid contact with the animal’s eyes. In case of accidental contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
Special precautions to be taken by the person administering the veterinary medicinal product to animals
This product may cause irritation of the mucous membranes and eyes. Therefore, contact of the product with the mouth and eyes should be avoided.
People with known hypersensitivity to fipronil or any of the excipients should avoid contact with the product.
Avoid direct contact of the fingers with the product.
In case of accidental exposure to the eyes, rinse them with clean water. Wash hands after using the product.
Do not smoke, drink or eat during application of the product.
Treated animals should not be handled until the application site is dry.
Children should not play with treated animals until the application site is completely dry.
Use during pregnancy, lactation or laying
Laboratory studies have not shown that fipronil would have teratogenic or embryotoxic effects.
There are no data available on the safety of the product in animals during pregnancy or lactation. Therefore, the product should be used during these periods in accordance with the risk/benefit assessment carried out by the responsible veterinarian.
