OPHTHALMIC SOLUTION FOR DOGS AND CATS GENTOCIN OFTALMIC 7.5ML
Gentocin Oftalmic, 5 mg/ml ophthalmic solution for dogs and cats.
STATEMENT OF ACTIVE SUBSTANCES AND OTHER INGREDIENTS:
1 ml of ophthalmic solution contains:
Active substance:
Gentamicin sulfate …… 5 mg
Excipients:
Benzalkonium chloride …… 0.1 mg
INDICATIONS:
GENTOCIN OFTALMIC – ophthalmic solution is indicated in the treatment of eye infections (conjunctivitis, keratitis, keratoconjunctivitis, blepharitis and blepharoconjunctivitis, etc.) caused by bacteria sensitive to gentamicin by local applications in dogs and cats.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Do not administer to animals with known hypersensitivity to the active substances or any of the excipients.
ADVERSE REACTIONS:
Occasionally, local irritation or allergic reactions may occur. In this case, discontinue use and apply appropriate treatment.
If you notice serious reactions or other effects not mentioned in this leaflet, please inform your veterinarian.
TARGET SPECIES:
Dogs and cats.
DOSAGE FOR EACH SPECIES, ROUTE(S) OF ADMINISTRATION AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION:
Instill 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac, 2-4 times a day until healing. Do not exceed 7-10 days of treatment.
RECOMMENDATIONS ON CORRECT ADMINISTRATION:
Not necessary.

Not applicable.
SPECIAL STORAGE PRECAUTIONS:
Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
Store below 25°C.
Protect from direct sunlight.
Do not use after the expiry date stated on the bottle.
Shelf life after first opening the immediate packaging: 28 days.

Special precautions for use in animals:
An antibiogram is recommended before administering the product.
Special precautions to be taken by the person administering the veterinary medicinal product to animals:
Do not swallow. In case of accidental ingestion, seek medical advice immediately and show the package leaflet or the label to the physician.
Use during pregnancy and lactation:
The safety of the veterinary medicinal product has not been established during pregnancy and lactation. Therefore, the product should only be used according to the benefit/risk assessment carried out by the responsible veterinarian.
Interactions with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction:
The simultaneous use of other ototoxic and/or nephrotoxic substances potentiates the ototoxicity and/or nephrotoxicity of gentamicin.
Overdose (symptoms, emergency procedures, antidotes), as appropriate:
Prolonged treatment with GENTOCIN OFTALMIC may promote superinfections with fungi or other resistant microorganisms.
Incompatibilities:
Incompatibilities in solutions with: amphotericin B, ampicillin, benzylpenicillin, carbenicillin, cephalothin, chloramphenicol, sodium hemisuccinate, heparin.
SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR THE DISPOSAL OF UNUSED PRODUCTS OR WASTE MATERIALS, IF ANY:
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your veterinarian for information on how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures help to protect the environment.
