Pen-strep 400, INJ 100 ML, Procain Benzylpenicillin Dihydrostreptomycin sulfate

COMPOSITION:
Each ml of solution contains:
Procain Benzylpenicillin 200.00 IU
Dihydrostreptomycin sulfate 200 mg
Excipient q.s.ad

PHARMACOTHERAPEUTIC ACTION:
The two components act synergistically. Procain benzylpenicillin is an antibiotic from the group of penicillins with bactericidal action on Gram-positive bacteria (Baciltus anthcacis. Clostridium spp., Corynebacterium spp., Fusobacterium spp., Erysyopelothrix rhusiopathiae, Pasteurela spp., Haemophilus spp. and Brucella spp.) Dihydrostreptomycin is an antibiotic from the group of aminoglycosides with bacteriostatic and bactericidal action on both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

INDICATIONS:
Cattle, sheep: leptospirosis, colibacillosis, salmonellosis, pasteurellosis, infectious enteritis. urogenital and respiratory infections, salmonella abortion in sheep.
Pigs: leptospirosis, colibacillosis, salmonellosis, pasteurellosis, infectious enteritis, urogenital and respiratory infections, measles.
Dogs, cats: bacterial infections secondary to viral diseases, urogenital and respiratory infections, infectious enteritis, streptococci, staphylococci.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Do not administer intravenously.
Do not use in animals with penicillin sensitivity or severe cardiac or renal disorders.

SIDE EFFECTS:
Penicillins are among the safest antibiotics considering their organ toxicity. In animals with sensitivity to Penicillin, allergic or anaphylactic reactions may be present. Dihydrostreptomycin toxicity can be manifested by local sensitization accompanied by dermatitis, chronic systemic effect, acute systemic effect. iIn case of prolonged administration, irreversible disturbances of the sense of balance may occur. If you notice any serious reactions or other effects that are not listed in this leaflet, please inform your veterinarian.

TARGET SPECIES:
Cattle, Sheep, Pigs, Dogs, Cats

METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION:
Intramuscular injections, every 24 hours for 3-5 days. Generally 1 ml/20 kg body weight.
Cattle: 10-20 ml/day.
Calves, sheep, pigs: 5-10 ml/day.
Piglets, lambs, dogs. 0.5-4 ml/day.
Cats: 0.5-1 ml/day.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR USE:
Special precautions for use in animals Do not administer intravenously. Special precautions to be taken by the person administering the veterinary medicinal product to animals. Avoid accidental self-injection. In case of accidental self-injection, get medical attention immediately and show the product label.

WAITING TIME:
MEAT : Cattle – 21 days Sheep, pigs – 30 days
MILK – 4 days.
