Vetmedin 5 mg, chewable tablets
Composition:
one chewable tablet contains 5 mg pimobendan;
Excipients: solid gelatin, dehydrated acincitric, titanium dioxide (E171), red iron oxide (E172), yellow iron oxide (E172).
Indications:
Vetmedin is indicated for the treatment of heart failure in dogs caused by extensive heart muscle disease or valvular insufficiency (mitral or tricuspid regurgitation).
Contraindications:
not to be administered in hypertrophic heart muscle diseases and in those diseases in which an improvement in the ejected volume cannot be obtained for functional or anatomical reasons (for example aortic stenosis).
in diabetes mellitus.
in the case of pregnant or lactating bitches,
the preparation will be administered only in cases of strict necessity.
Precautions:
keep out of reach of children and do not use in animals as a reward.
Side effects:
In some cases tachycardia and vomiting may occur.
These effects depend on the dosage and can be avoided by reducing the dose.

Storage conditions:
do not store at temperatures above 30 °C.
Method of administration:
Unless there is another indication, the dosage must be strictly observed.
is administered in a daily dose, between 0.2 mg – 0.6 mg pimobendan / kg body weight.
A daily dose of 0.5 mg pimobendan / kg body weight is the indicated amount.
The dose must be divided into two doses of 0.25 mg / kg body weight; the first dose will be administered in the morning, and the second at approximately 12 hours interval.
Each dose should be administered approximately 1 hour before a meal.
can be administered in combination with diuretics such as Furosemide.
