What Ambroxol Egis is and what it is used for
Ambroxol Egis 30 mg tablets is indicated as secretolytic therapy:
– in chronic bronchopulmonary diseases associated with abnormal mucus secretion and impaired mucus transport;
– in acute bronchial diseases and acute episodes of chronic bronchopneumopathy.
Also, Ambroxol Egis 30 mg tablets is indicated pre- and postoperatively.
How to use Ambroxol Egis
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as told by your doctor or pharmacist. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
– Adults and children over 12 years old
The recommended dose is 1 tablet Ambroxol Egis 3 times a day (90 mg ambroxol hydrochloride per day), for the first 2-3 days; then the dose is reduced to 1 tablet Ambroxol Egis 2 times a day (60 mg ambroxol hydrochloride per day)
In case of severe renal impairment, due to accumulation of metabolites of ambroxol resulting from metabolism in the liver, the maintenance dose should be appropriately reduced and the interval between doses extended.
The tablets should be taken whole with liquids after meals. The mucolytic effect is enhanced by fluid intake.
Follow these instructions unless your doctor recommends otherwise.
If after 4-5 days of treatment the symptoms do not improve, it is necessary to consult your doctor for reevaluation of the treatment.
If you have the impression that the effect of Ambroxol Egis 30 mg tablets is too strong or too weak, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
