Contractubex is used for the treatment of various types of scars after the wounds have healed.
Benefits:
Contractubex acts to stop the proliferation of scar tissue and has a flattening and decontracting effect on this tissue. It also reduces redness, heat, inflammation and pain (anti–inflammatory).
Contractubex is indicated for patients with scars that limit movement, hypertrophic scars, keloids (scars that are thickened, raised and sometimes colored differently from the surrounding skin), post–operative disfiguring scars, after amputations, burns and accidents; after contractures such as Dupuytrene‘s contracture (hand contracture) and traumatic tendon contractures as well as atrophic scars (scars that form depressions or wrinkles of the skin).
Ingredients:
The active substances are: sodium heparin 5000 IU, liquid onion extract 10g, allantoin 1 g per 100g gel.
The other ingredients are: sorbic acid, methyl p-hydroxybenzoate, Xanthan gum, macrogol 200, 231616 fragrance composition, purified water
How to use:
Always use Contractubex exactly as described in this leaflet. You should talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.
If the doctor does not prescribe otherwise, the usual dose is one application a few times a day and gently massage the scar tissue until the gel is completely absorbed. If the scars are hard and old, Contractubex is left to act overnight under a bandage.
As the efficacy and tolerability of Contractubex in children less than 1 year of age are not known, the use of Contractubex in this category is not recommended.
In children older than 1 year, Contractubex can be used, 1-2 applications per day, at the express indication of the doctor and only if he considers that the benefits outweigh the potential risks.
Warnings:
Do not use Contractubex if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Extr. Cepae, sodium heparin, allantoin, sorbic acid or parabens (methyl-4-hydroxybenzoate) or any of the other ingredients of Contractubex.
As there are no data on the safety and efficacy of Contractubex in children below one year of age, it should not be used in this age group.
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for recommendations before taking any medication. The risks during pregnancy and breastfeeding are not known so far.
Contractubex has no influence on the ability to drive and use machines.
