INTRAFER 200 B12 – 100ML INJ.
Composition:
Each milliliter contains:
Iron (in the form of dextran iron)………………….. 200 mg
Vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) 200 mcg.
Solvents q s ad……………………………………………… l ml.
Pharmacotherapeutic action:
Iron dextran is used for the prevention and treatment of iron deficiencies that cause anemia in piglets and calves. Parenteral administration of iron has the advantage that the necessary amount of iron can be administered in a single dose. Cyanocobalamin is used for the prevention and treatment of vitamin B12 deficiency that causes anemia.
Method of administration and dosage:
For intramuscular or subcutaneous administration:
Piglets: 1 ml im., 3 days after calving.
Calves: 2-4 ml sc., in the first week after calving.
Contraindications:
Administration to animals with vitamin E deficiency Administration to animals with diarrhoea.
Administration in combination with tetracidins, due to the interaction of iron with tetracidins.
Side effects:
Muscle tissue is temporally colored by this preparation.
Leakage of the injectable fluid may cause persistent peeling of the skin.
