Indications for use, specifying the target species
The product is recommended for the treatment of gastrointestinal and pulmonary nematodes, cestodes and
trematodes in sheep, goats and cattle.
Albendazole is effective against the following endoparasites:
Nematodes: Haemonchus spp., Ostertagia spp., Trichostrongylus spp., Cooperia spp., Nematodirus spp.,
Gaygeria pachyschelis, Marshallagia marshalli, Oesophagostomum spp., Chabertia ovina, Dictyocaulus
spp., Protostrongylus rufenscens, Muellerius capillaris.
Cestodes: Monienzia expansa, Avitellina spp.
Trematodes: Fasciola hepatica, Fasciola gigantica, Fascioloides magna, Dicrocoelium dendriticum.
Contraindications
The product should not be administered to animals with known hypersensitivity to albendazole or to any of the
excipients.
Although the maximum dose is 37.5 mg/kg body weight for sheep and goats and 75 mg/kg body weight for cattle, it is recommended not to exceed doses higher than 10 mg/kg body weight for sheep and goats in the first month of gestation and 15 mg/kg body weight for cattle in the first month of gestation.
Use during pregnancy, lactation or lay
It is recommended not to administer doses higher than 10 mg/kg body weight
in sheep and goats and 15 mg/kg body weight in cattle during the first month of pregnancy.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction
None known.
Amounts to be administered and route of administration
To ensure the administration of a correct dose, body weight should be determined as accurately as possible and the accuracy of the administration device should be checked.
The product is administered orally, manually or with the administration device, in the following doses:
Cattle:
– 7.5 mg/kg body weight (1 tablet/40 kg body weight) for the treatment of gastrointestinal, pulmonary and cestode nematodes.
10 mg/kg body weight (1 tablet/30 kg body weight) for the treatment of chronic fasciolosis. In acute and severe cases the dose is 15 mg/kg body weight.
Sheep and goats:
-3.8 mg/kg body weight (½ tablet/40 kg body weight) for the treatment of infestations
with gastrointestinal nematodes, lungworms (Dictyocaulus filaria) and cestodes.

-7.5 mg/kg body weight (1 tablet/40 kg body weight) for the treatment of infestations
with lungworms (Muellerius capillaris and Protostrongylus ruferscens) and adult forms of Fasciola hepatica.
-15 mg/kg body weight (2 tablets/40 kg body weight) for the treatment of fasciolosis
(caused by Dicrocoelium dendriticum).
4.10 Overdose (symptoms, emergency procedures, antidotes), if appropriate
Overdose with doses ten times higher than the maximum recommended dose is unlikely to cause
adverse reactions in healthy animals.
Withdrawal periods
Meat and offal:
Cattle: 14 days
Sheep and goats: 10 days
Milk: 72 hours
