What Clotrimazole Zentiva is and what it is used for
Clotrimazole Zentiva contains the active substance clotrimazole. It is a drug that belongs to the class of drugs called imidazole derivatives.
It is used for the treatment of fungal infections in the vagina, such as Candida infection or other species, or for the treatment of non–specific vaginitis.
How to use Clotrimazole Zentiva
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as told by your doctor or pharmacist. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The recommended dose is one vaginal tablet of Clotrimazole Zentiva per day, taken in the evening at bedtime, for 6–12 days.
2 vaginal tablets of Clotrimazole Zentiva can be administered in short courses per day (morning and evening), for 3 days.
In severe cases, 2 vaginal tablets of Clotrimazole Zentiva can be taken daily (morning and evening), for 6-12 days.
Use in children and adolescents
This medicine is not recommended for children and adolescents under 16 years of age.
Method of administration
The vaginal tablets are inserted deep into the vagina.
The vaginal tablet is inserted lying on the back, with the legs apart and slightly bent. Do not swallow.
The treatment is not carried out during menstruation.
If symptoms persist for more than 7 days or if symptoms recur within 2 months of the end of treatment, you should consult a doctor.
Do not use tampons, douching, spermicides, or other vaginal products while using Clotrimazole Zentiva.
During the administration of Clotrimazole Zentiva, it is recommended to avoid sexual contact, as the infection could be transmitted to the partner, and the effectiveness and safety of latex products (such as condoms, diaphragms) may be reduced.
If you use more Clotrimazole Zentiva than you should
Do not use more vaginal tablets than you should or for a longer period of time. No cases of overdose have been reported following vaginal administration.
In case of accidental ingestion, contact your doctor or the emergency department of the nearest hospital.
If you forget to use Clotrimazole Zentiva
If you forget to use Clotrimazole Zentiva at night at bedtime, insert the vaginal tablet the next morning. If the next vaginal tablet is approaching, insert only this tablet. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
If you stop using Clotrimazole Zentiva
If you stop taking Clotrimazole Zentiva earlier than you should, the infection may not be completely cured and your symptoms may persist.

Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although they do not occur in all people.
Rarely, in some women, Clotrimazole Zentiva may cause side effects. Side effects are similar to infection. If redness, burning sensation, worsening irritation or swelling occur, discontinue use of Clotrimazole Zentiva and contact your doctor as soon as possible.
As with other medications, some women may be allergic to Clotrimazole Zentiva. In general, if you are allergic to these vaginal tablets, an adverse reaction will occur as soon as you use the tablet. The allergic reaction is manifested by skin rashes, nausea, fainting or swelling of the face.
Immune system disorders: syncope, low blood pressure, shortness of breath, hives.
Disorders of the genital tract and breast: genital peeling, itching, rash, accumulation of fluid in the tissues, discomfort, local burning sensation, redness, local irritation, pelvic pain, dryness of the vaginal mucosa.
Gastrointestinal disorders: abdominal pain.
