Essentiale Forte contains essential phospholipids extracted from soybeans. This medicine is indicated for adults, adolescents and children over 12 years of age, to relieve symptoms such as lack of appetite and pressure in the right side of the upper abdomen, caused by liver damage by harmful substances or malnutrition (toxico-nutritional damage to the liver) and in chronic inflammation of the liver (hepatitis).

Indications:

Acute and chronic hepatitis; liver cirrhosis; intoxication; fatty degeneration of the liver, regardless of the etiology; cholestasis; prophylaxis of relapses of gallstones; irradiation syndrome; pre- and postoperative therapy, especially in hepatobiliary surgery.

Composition:

One capsule contains phospholipids extracted from soybeans, containing 76% (3-sn-phosphatidyl) choline (extractant: ethanol 96% (V/V)) 300 mg, and excipients refined soybean oil, solid fat Witepsol W 35 and solid fat Witepsol W 55, ethanol, hydrogenated castor oil, ethylvanillin, 4-methoxyacetophenone, gelatin, titanium dioxide (E 171), black iron oxide (E 127), yellow iron oxide and red iron oxide (E 172).

Method of administration

The recommended dose is:

Children over 12 years of age (approximately 43 kg): 2 capsules per day (600 mg soybean phospholipids)

Adolescents and adults: 2 capsules 3 times daily (1800 mg soybean phospholipids)

Essentiale Forte capsules should be swallowed whole, during meals, with a sufficient amount of liquid (preferably with a glass of water, 200 ml).
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you think the effect of Essentiale Forte is too strong or too weak.

If you take more Essentiale Forte than you should
No overdose reactions or symptoms of Essentiale Forte poisoning have been described. However, the side effects mentioned below can be more serious if you have taken a higher dose than recommended. In this situation, contact your doctor, who will assess the severity of the manifestations you present and decide on the necessary measures.

If you forget to take Essentiale Forte
If you have forgotten to take one dose, take the next dose at your next meal. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose. If you have forgotten to take your medicine for a whole day, resume treatment the next day with the same doses as usual.
