What Corneregel is and what it is used for
Corneregel is an ophthalmic gel, quickly absorbed in the eye. The active substance is dexpanthenol. Dexpanthenol is rapidly converted into pantothenic acid, which is a water-soluble vitamin, which intervenes in numerous metabolic processes in the form of coenzyme A. Pantothenic acid has a trophic effect and stimulates the proliferation of fibroblasts and the regeneration of damaged skin and mucous membranes.
Corneregel is used for:
– treatment of non-inflammatory corneal diseases (keratopathies), e.g. corneal dystrophy (nutritional disorders), corneal degeneration (regression), recurrent corneal erosions (desquamation)
and corneal lesions in contact lens wearers;
– as an adjuvant treatment of injuries to the cornea and ocular conjunctiva, thermal and chemical burns;
– treatment of corneal infections of a bacterial, viral or fungal nature, as an adjunct drug for the specific treatment of these diseases.
um to use Corneregel
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as told by your doctor or pharmacist. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The recommended dose is one drop of Corneregel ophthalmic gel applied to the conjunctival sac 4 times a day, as well as before bedtime, depending on the severity and intensity of the manifestations.
The duration of administration is not limited. You should use Corneregel until you notice an improvement in your manifestations.
It is good to consult an ophthalmologist while using Corneregel, as treatment with this medicine is normally long–lasting.
To avoid contamination of the dropper tip and ophthalmic gel, when handling the tube, please do not touch the applicator tip with your fingers and do not touch the eye with the applicator tip. Put on the protective cover after each use.
Instructions for use
Tilt your head back. Pull down the lower eyelid with the index finger of one hand and hold the tube upright above the eye with the other hand (without touching the eye). Apply one drop of ophthalmic gel to the conjunctival sac. Keep your eye open as you rotate it to ensure that the eye gel spreads evenly.
The protective cap allows the tube to be kept upright. This facilitates the immediate and effective administration of Corneregel.
If you find that the effect of Corneregel is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
If you use Corneregel more than you should
An overdose of Corneregel does not carry any known risk. It does not improve or diminish the therapeutic effect.
If you forget to use Corneregel
Apply the ophthalmic gel as soon as you remember, then return to your usual usage schedule. Do not apply a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
If you stop using Corneregel
If you have any further questions about this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
