ECVIROM Oral suspension 50 ml – Broad-spectrum anthelmintic for pleasure horses, recommended for combating endo and ectoparasitic infections.
PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION
Ecvirom is an antiparasitic product formulated with a mixture of albendazole and avermectin B1.
The product acts on parasites by reducing the activity of mitochondria at the level of the oxido-reducing enzymes that it inhibits.
The amount of ATP produced by the mitochondria is abolished, which prevents the metabolism of the parasite’s energy substances.
The parasite dies within 24-48 hours by exhausting its energy reserves.
Albendazole acts on worms regardless of their location (at the level of the respiratory system, digestive tract, liver, etc.).
Thanks to avermectin, the product acts at the level of the synapses of the nematode nervous system by inhibiting the GABA mediator, which causes the interruption of the nerve influx.
Toxicity is low, the maximum doses being well tolerated.
Due to the combined action of the two substances, acquired resistance of parasites is extremely rare.
