Hedelix is used as an adjunct in the treatment of acute inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract and to relieve symptoms in chronic inflammatory diseases of the airways

What Hedelix contains 40 mg/5 ml – the active substance is soft extract of ivy leaves – Hedera helix L. (2.2 – 2.9:1) 40 mg per 5 ml syrup (equivalent to 100 mg dried ivy leaves). The other components are: macrogol hydroxystearate and glycerol, volatile oil from Anisi stellati fructus seeds, hydroxycellulose, propylene glycol, liquid sorbitol (non-crystallizable), glycerol, purified water.
Recommended dosages:
– adults, adolescents and children over 10 years of age: 5 ml Hedelix syrup 3 times a day;
– children aged 4 to 10 years: 2.5 ml Hedelix syrup 4 times a day;
– children aged between 1 and 4 years: 2.5 ml syrup 3 times a day;
– children aged 0 to 1 year: 2.5 ml Hedelix syrup per day (equivalent to 50 mg dried ivy leaves per day).
How to use the dosing syringe:
For exact dosing, the dosing syringe is graduated
Insert the dosing syringe through the mouth of the vial. Gently push it into the bottle until it sets. The plunger must be in the syringe at all times.
Carefully turn the bottle upside down and pull the plunger to the desired dosage mark.
Turn the vial over and remove the syringe by a gentle rotation. Close the bottle after taking your dose.
The syrup can be administered directly by emptying it into the oral cavity or by using a teaspoon.
After administering the dose, wash the components individually and dry them.
Hedelix should be administered undiluted. Hedelix, but can be administered to children and infants with a little tea or fruit juice. Hedelix can be taken regardless of food intake.
The duration of treatment depends on the type and degree of the condition. Hedelix will be administered for a few days, and if symptoms persist or worsen after 5 days, you should contact your doctor.
Precautions
Do not use Hedelix:
-if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Hedera helix or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.
-if you have a deficiency of the enzyme argininsuccinate synthase (a metabolic disease of the urea cycle).
Special warnings:
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for recommendations before taking any medication. The existing data to date on the administration of Hedelix during pregnancy and breastfeeding are inconclusive, therefore it is not recommended for use during pregnancy or breast-feeding.
