Prospan solution is an herbal medicine that contains dry extract of ivy leaves (Hederae folium) as the active substance. Prospan solution is part of the group: expectorants without combinations with cough suppressants, expectorants, herbs.
Prospan solution is used in the symptomatic treatment of chronic inflammatory bronchial diseases; acute inflammation of the respiratory tract accompanied by cough.

Composition:
– The active substance is dry extract of Hedera helix L. 35 mg dry extract of Hedera helix L., leaf (Hederae folium) (DER 5 – 7.5:1); Extraction solvent: 30% ethanol (m/m) / sachet.
– The other ingredients are: potassium sorbate, citric acid, liquid sorbitol (crystallizable), xanthan gum, natural flavoring substance, corn maltodextrins, starch, orange oil, ethanol 96%, levomenthol, purified water.
Method of administration: Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The usual dose for adults and adolescents over 12 years of age is one sachet (5 ml) 3 times a day (corresponding to 105 mg of dry ivy leaf extract daily).
Use in children:
The usual dose for children aged 6 to 12 years is one sachet (5 ml) twice a day (corresponding to 70 mg of dry ivy leaf extract daily).
The liquid is administered undiluted in the morning (at noon) and in the evening.
