One gastro-resistant soft capsule contains alpha-pinene 24.8 mg, beta-pinene 6.2 mg, camfen 15 mg, cineole 3 mg, fencone 4 mg, borneol 10 mg, anethole 4 mg and excipients: capsule content – olive oil, capsule – gelatin, glycerol 85%, sodium ethyl hydroxybenzoate, sodium propyl hydroxybenzoate, (E217), Sunset yellow FCF (E110), quinoline yellow (E104). Pharmacotherapeutic group: other urological products, urinary antispasmodics.
Indications:
Prophylaxis and treatment of urinary lithiasis. Adjuvant in the treatment of mild-moderate urinary tract infections and nephropathies.
Contraindications:
Severe renal colic, anuria, serious urinary tract infections, urinary lithiasis requiring surgical treatment.
Precautions:
Because the capsules contain Sunset yellow FCF (E110), allergic reactions may occur. Due to the p-hydroxybenzoate ester content of the capsule, Rowatinex capsules can cause allergic reactions (even delayed).
Interactions:
Caution should be exercised in patients treated with anticoagulants or other hepatically metabolised medicinal products that have a low therapeutic index.
Warnings:
In patients with renal colic, medical supervision of treatment is recommended. Pregnancy and breast-feeding: Although no teratogenic effects have been reported, Rowatinex should not be administered in the first trimester of pregnancy. As insufficient information is available, Rowatinex should not be given to breastfeeding women. Ability to drive or use machines: Rowatinex does not affect the ability to drive or use machines. Do not use after the expiry date stated on the package. Store at temperatures below 25 C, in the original packaging. Keep out of reach of children.
Dosage and method of use:
Adults: The usual dose is one Rowatinex capsule 3-4 times a day, 30 minutes before meals or as recommended by your doctor. Children aged 6 to 14 years: The usual dose is one Rowatinex capsule 1-2 times a day, 30 minutes before meals or as recommended by your doctor. On the doctor’s recommendation, during very painful periods, especially if colic pain occurs, a dose of 20-30 oral drops, Rowatinex solution, which can be repeated after 15-20 minutes if necessary, or up to 40 oral drops, Rowatinex solution in a single dose is administered. Children aged between 6 and 14 years. The usual dose is 1-2 oral drops, Rowatinex solution 3-4 times a day, 30 minutes before meals or as recommended by the doctor.
Side effects:
Occasionally, mild and transient gastric disturbances have been reported. Rarely, vomiting has been reported. Two mild cases of drug intolerance have been reported. Allergic reactions may occur, even delayed (see Precautions). Overdose: in case of overdose, gastric irritation with nausea, vomiting and diarrhea may occur. If the drug has been swallowed for a short time, gastric lavage will be performed. The patient should be carefully monitored and, if necessary, symptomatic treatment should be instituted. Cardiac, respiratory, renal and hepatic function should be monitored. Toxicological studies in animals have shown that high doses of essential oils can cause depression of the central nervous system with stupor and respiratory failure or stimulation of the central nervous system to the point of excitement and convulsions.
