Prospan effervescent cough tablets belongs to the group: expectorants without combinations with cough suppressants, expectorants, herbs.

Benefits:

It is used for the symptomatic treatment of long-term (chronic) inflammatory diseases of the bronchi and for acute inflammation of the airways accompanied by cough.
Prospan effervescent cough tablets is used to treat cough in adults, adolescents and children over 6 years of age.
Ingredients: The active substance is 30% (w/w) dry ethanolic extract of ivy leaves (5-7.5:1) 65 mg. The other ingredients are: anhydrous citric acid, sodium hydrogen carbonate, anhydrous sodium carbonate, mannitol, simethicone, sodium saccharin, sodium cyclamate, sodium citrate, sorbitol, medium-chain triglycerides, macrogolglycerol hydroxystearate, orange flavor.
Each effervescent tablet contains 382 mg of carbohydrates – corresponding to 0.03 units of bread.

How to use:

Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The usual dose for adults and adolescents over 12 years of age is one effervescent tablet 2 times a day (corresponding to 130 mg of dry ivy leaf extract daily).
Use in children and adolescents: The usual dose for children aged 6 to 12 years is 1/2 effervescent tablet 3 times a day (corresponding to 97.5 mg dry extract of ivy leaves daily).
The tablet is administered after dissolving in a glass of water (about 200 ml).
Both cold liquids (at room temperature) and hot liquids can be used to dissolve the tablets.

The duration of treatment depends on the nature and severity of the clinical condition; Treatment should be performed for at least one week, even in the case of minor inflammation of the respiratory tract.
To ensure therapeutic success, treatment with Prospan effervescent cough tablets should be continued 2-3 days after the symptoms have disappeared.
Warnings:

It must not be administered to children under 6 years of age.
Do not use Prospan effervescent tablets if you are allergic to dry ivy leaf extract or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Before using Prospan effervescent tablets, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
The medicine does not adversely affect the ability to drive or use machines.
